Issue

Business & Retail Crime across Darlaston (Policing Priority)

Action

We are continuing our efforts to reduce incidents of shoplifting across the area including key locations such as IKEA We are working closely with IKEA and are planning a meeting with their security team to see how we can improve crime prevention.
We are regularly patrolling Darlaston High Street and speaking to local shops and businesses to better understand their concerns and provide reassurance.

Issue

Reducing Vehicle Related Crime

Action

Officers have been conducting pro-active patrols at locations vulnerable to vehicle crime, such as car parks and locations hidden from public view.

We have been raising awareness of how to keep vehicles secure via our newsletters and social media platforms.

We have recently recovered a stolen vehicles as well as seized a number of vehicles for not have road tax or being on false plates.

We are planning a meeting with IKEA next month to discuss how we can better tackle vehicle crime.

Issue

Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in the Darlaston area. Specifically incidents of illegal use of motorbikes, drugs related activity and criminal damage.

Action

We continue to carry out targeted patrols in the areas we know ASB is occurring and along with some of our colleagues from housing we carry out joint visits to address some of the behaviours.

We have carried out ASB drop in session at Darlaston Library to give people an opportunity to come along and speak to us about local concerns, this also gives us an opportunity to tell our community how we are tackling issues in their area.

We have visited the local stores in Bentley to reassure staff members in regards to Anti Social Behaviour,

We recently executed a drug warrant in the Darlaston area and arrested a woman for possession offence.
