Current Priorities

Issue

Tackling ASB in hotspot areas including local parks ( Palfrey park ) and open spaces. ( Policing priority )

Action

We have identified hotspot areas and have now including these in our patrol plan.

We have increased our patrols in the Palfrey Park and delivered monthly police surgeries at the Seed Hut for members of the local community to come and meet the police and discuss any concerns (The community hub)

Knife sweeps have been carried out in Palfrey Park and Arena Park During November, no knives found. These operations are ongoing as part of our patrol plan.

Feedback from local residents they have said that they have seen an improvement in the park over recent months.

Issue

Tackling Darker Nights related crime & ASB.
Prevention of burglaries which historically increase as the days get darker earlier. ( Policing priority )

Prevention & education of Halloween & Bonfire Night related ASB.

Action

Patrols in the Chuckery, Parkhall, Delves and Palfrey continue as the xmas period draws near.

WMNOW messaging has been sent out on a regular basis giving crime prevention advice aimed at the xmas/darker nights

Our Street Watch team have been have been very busy with over 20 Patrols being carried out since November and Neighbourhood Watch schemes continue to add support to the local community and give that re-assurance and crime prevention that residents value. share important information and report any suspicious activities.

Issue

Tackling youth related violence in the Paddock and Delves area

Action

• Patrols of local hotspots has seen a reduction in ASB but will continue to deter any further incidents occurring.
• Utilising stop & search powers in an effort to remove weapons from our streets and keep our communities safe.
• Visiting local schools to educate young people about the dangers of carrying a knife.
• we will keep highlighting #LifeorKnife providing parents/carers with information and advice to help keep young people safe
