Current Priorities
Issue
Vehicle crime OCG groups operating around BCFC on match days.
Action
The team have worked with our dedicated football unit to understand the issues around vehicle crime that have been reported. Through engagement with local residents and matchday attendees, we have utilised mobile patrols to cover large areas whilst the fixtures are in play to reduce the overall number of offences taking place.
Issue
Horton Square- recent closure orders, begging, drug dealing to homeless.
Action
The team have regularly provided high visibility patrols within the Horton Square area, interacting with the local community and proactively engaging with local businesses to reduce crime. Some of this work has included business visits that have resulted in closure orders and improvements.
Issue
Tackling ongoing retail crime, anti-social behaviour and aggressive begging in and around the footprint of St Andrews Retail Park, Small Heath.
Action
To date, the team have been involved in the positive prosecution of prolific offenders, issued an number of Community Protection Warnings against prolific offenders and successfully obtained a Criminal Behaviour Order against one such individual.
Issue
Ongoing issues of Anti-Social Parking around businesses centred upon Parliament Street, Small Heath.
Action
Multi-agency Enforcement days drawing upon numerous statutory agencies to bring about business reform plans.
