Issue
Business and shoppers have told us they are concerned about anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Fox Hollies park, the surrounding shops in the village and along the high street in Acocks Green.
Action
We are conducting regular targeted patrols in and around local parks to ensure safety and prevent crime. Our officers are performing stop and searches to address issues related to robbery, weapon offences, drug activity, and vehicle crime. We are also focusing on the misuse of motorbikes being driven in an antisocial manner.
In addition, we are holding partnership meetings with key community partners to help reduce youth related crime. These meetings aim to provide intervention, educational opportunities, and employment support for young people.
Issue
Local shop owners and workers around the Acocks Green Village and surrounding areas have let us know about concerns relating to shop theft, anti-social behaviour and aggressive begging.
Action
We conduct regular targeted patrols around the village to enhance safety and provide reassurance to the community. Through the implementation of the Business Watch program, we have strengthened our partnership with local businesses and continue to work closely together.
These efforts have led to the identification and prosecution of numerous offenders for various offences. Additionally, we have referred suspects to appropriate support services. This includes issues relating to both antisocial behaviour (ASB) and youth-related crime.
Issue
Residents have told us that they are concerned about various types of vehicle related crime Acocks Green. As a result we are focusing on anti-social use, parking, thefts of and from vehicles and untaxed vehicles.
Action
We are actively issuing tickets for inconsiderate parking in the local area. Our patrols have also recovered vehicles that are untaxed or suspected to be stolen, based on information and intelligence from the community.
Our team conducts regular patrols in targeted areas, including flats, shops, and other businesses. During these patrols, we have made numerous arrests, taken positive action, and successfully charged and convicted several offenders.
