Issue
Moseley and Kings Heath High Street
Reducing ASB including begging and street drinking
Targeting offenders that are stealing from local shops
Action
Worked with local authorities and partners to introduce and enforce a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO)
Now to increase targeted patrols and implement an enforcement strategy for the PSPO.
Joint working with partner agencies, including out reach workers, have been initiated to support homeless individuals in the area.
Continued patrols by our dedicated Neighbourhood Officers and PCSOs on both High Streets to provide reassurance and crime prevention/reduction.
Issue
The areas of Moseley and Kings Heath are blessed with excellent high streets. However, what comes with a highly dense population of shops, anywhere, is shop lifting
Action
Identified regular shop lifter offenders and maintained a patrol strategy on the high street
To continue to work with partners, such as Enjoy Kings Heath - Kings Heath BID, to complete regular patrols and maintain effective communication together
Officers have conducted operations on Kings Heath High Street with multi agencies, including Trading Standards. One shop lifter was arrested during this operation.
PC Batchelor is allocated to work solely on Kings Heath High Street to support the local community and deal/prevent crime.
PC Batchelor and PCSO Doyle have invited our Corporate Communications Team to a patrol with Enjoy Kings Heath Street Wardens - this was an excellent opportunity to showcase our dedication to reducing crime on Kings Heath High Street. More information on our dedicated PC and PCSO can be found here: https://www.westmidlands.police.uk/news/west-midlands/news/news/2025/march/dedicated-neighbourhood-police-in-kings-heath/
Issue
Traffic offences such as speeding and poor parking
Action
Completed Community Speed Watch groups with new members joining and worked with the Road Harm Prevention Team to create awareness of speeding on our roads, as well as completing a number of joint parking operations with Birmingham City Council
Now to maintain the network of, arrange and carry out Community Speed Watches
To continue to work with partner agencies, such as Birmingham City Council, to carry out joint parking operations
To work with internal partners, such as the Road Harm Prevention Team, to raise awareness of speeding in our area and arrange joint operations
PCSOs have completed parking operations around our local schools jointly with partner agencies to create awareness of inappropriate parking and issue tickets were appropriate.
Concerns have been raised regarding the number of food delivery drivers on electric bikes without lights in Moseley Village. We will now work with the Road Harm Prevention Team to conduct a joint operation in the area to work on reducing this issue.
Our officers have received additional training to operate our new state of the art speed gun - tickets will be issued to offenders.
