Issue
Continued High Vis patrols in and around the Wyrley Birch/ Witton Lodge areas, to tackle robberies and serious violent crimes. Intelligence to be gathered and used to identify offenders in order to proactively target offenders in order to prevent offences.
Action
Since the increased high visibility patrols there has been a significant reduction in violent crimes such as robberies and knife crime. There have been arrests of persons responsible for drug dealing in the local area along with weapons been seized. The Kingstanding Team have had a lot of success in recovering stolen vehicles and gained intelligence which can be used to target certain individual.
Issue
Ensure residents of Kingstanding feel safe and reassured in their lives by providing regular contact with their Neighbourhood Team and having officers be as visible as possible where needed.
Action
There have been increased patrols by officers and PCSOs in the local area who are also utilising public transport. The Kingstanding Team are also in the process of setting up a community meeting called Biscuit with a Bobby, where residents are invited to come along and chat to local officers and express their concerns (location TBC).
Issue
Combat Anti-social behaviour within Wyrley Birch through working with partner agencies including Birmingham City Council to address repeat ASB issues and utilise enforcement action on prolific offenders where appropriate
Action
The team has been working with the local EcoHub to set up regular drop in meeting for residents to attend and speak to officers and PCSOs about their concerns (Cuppa with a Copper). We have increased the patrols on the Wyrley Birch and surrounding area focusing on relevant times such end of the school day when pupils are leaving the North Birmingham Academy.
