Issue
Ensure residents of Erdington feel safe and reassured by focusing on the crimes that matter most to local people. This includes burglary, theft, anti-social behaviour, and drug-related offences
Action
You may have noticed an increased police presence in your neighbourhood. That's because we've launched Operation Fearless, a major new initiative to tackle crime and make your area safer. We've heard your concerns about crime in the area, and we're taking action. We’ve recruited a brand-new team of 20 officers who are dedicated to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour. You can expect to see more high-visibility patrols, targeted operations, and increased police presence in hotspot areas.
You can find out more on the Operation Fearless webpage.
Issue
Anti-social behaviour on Erdington High Street
Action
We are continuing to work with local partner agencies including Birmingham City Council to address repeat anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues in the area. We are also using enforcement actions such Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) on prolific offenders where appropriate.
Issue
Long term problem solving around the area’s most serious crimes
Action
We are continuing gather and develop intelligence provided by our community to identify offences and repeat suspects of some of our most serious crimes such as violence and drugs. We are using a combination of court warrants and other enforcement actions to do this.
This also forms part of our Operation Fearless work and we would encourage you to report any suspicious activity to us on 101. In an emergency, always dial 999. Your information could help us prevent crime and keep our community safe. You can also report crime anonymously to Crimestoppers online at crimestoppers-uk.org or by phone on 0800 555 111.
