Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Bicester Town Centre - Anti-social behaviour
Action
This Priority was set following the September Have Your Say pop ups & Online survey.
We have worked hard to reduce Anti-social Behaviour in Bicester Town centre.
This has been through Joint patrols with our partners in the Community Safety Team as well as working with local businesses and Cherwell Crime Partnership & Pubwatch.
There have been dedicated High visibility patrols from our Neighbourhood police team with the support of officers from ICR and the Joint Operations departments.
Several Public Space Protection Order warnings have been issued along with a Breach of P.S.P.O fine.
We are also working closely with our partners in the Community Safety team regarding a failure to pay a P.S.P.O fine and a potential court prosecution being sought.
Upcoming Have Your Say and Online Surveys will be published soon to set the priorities for the New Year.
Please take the opportunity to have your say on the issues that impact the community the most.
Issue
E-Scooters use
Action
E-Scooter warnings have been issued by the team and Parents informed around their illegal uses and potential consequences.
Prosecutions are being sought against E-Scooter riders who continue to ride around town and this serves as a reminder that use of E-Scooters outside of the pilot rental scheme zones is illegal unless riding on private land with the land owner’s permission.
This year we have prosecuted 2 E-Scooter riders who have ignored previous warnings and advice and there are further cases under investigation at this time.
Bicester is not a Pilot zone and any use of E-Scooters on footpaths or the roads will be committing road traffic offences and several operations are planned to target their use.
We are asking the community to set the Priorities for the New Year so if you feel that E-Scooters remain an issue for the Bicester community please let us know via our Online Survey or in person Have Your Say events which will be advertised soon.
Issue
Drugs
Action
We have been busy in the Bicester targeting this Community Priority.
We have conducted 4 Section 23 Drugs Warrants since the priority was set which has resulted in 1 Cannabis factory being identified and shut down.
Several arrests have been made in relation to these warrants along with large quantities of Cannabis being seized.
We have also utilised powers under the Proceeds of Crime Act and have seized multiple items which we believe have been gained through Proceeds of Crime.
We have charged 2 people in relation to these Warrants whilst several others remain under investigation at this time.
The team have utilised their stop and search powers appropriately in and around the area and where people have been found in possession of drugs.
Where appropriate individuals have been issued a Community Resolution notice with a positive requirement to engage with drugs awareness courses.
We have several ongoing investigations in relation to Possession with Intent to Supply drug offences which has assisted in disrupting drug supply activity in the area.
The Team remain committed to targeting any drug activity and will continue to do so in 2025. We encourage the community to report any drug activity that they are aware of in the area to enable us to focus our patrols and where appropriate seek additional powers as we have done with the 4 Warrants above.
We are asking the community what they would like the teams Community Priorities to be in the New Year so if you feel that Drugs remains a priority please Have your say and let us know.
