Current Priorities

Issue

Burglaries continues to be an area of concern for local residents, as highlighted by the routine surveys we send out to members of the public.

Action

The team have currently been focusing on high visibility proactive patrols in locations where there have been increased reports of burglary. They have also been making sure to frequently engage with the local community in order to distribute burglary prevention advice to as many residents as possible. In light of any recent burglary, the team will carry out a process called cocooning, where they will seek to engage with homes in the proximity of the area the burglary took place, either via door knocks or leaflet drops. The neighbourhood PCSOs also continue to conduct their Have your say events, which gives members of the public the chance to pick up crime prevention material and speak with their local neighbourhood team about any concerns they may have.

If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.

Issue

Residents in Chepping Wye have raised safety concerns about speeding in the area and the potential danger it can bring to pedestrians and other road users

Action

The team are taking feedback from the local community about what roads would be most effective to carry out their periodic speed enforcement checks and will complete these when necessary

The team will stand roadside with speed guns to check speeds, this assists in deterring speeding and also provides enforcement via issuing tickets.

If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.

Issue

The neighbourhood team have received increased reports of anti-social behaviour and drug usage in locations around the Chepping Wye area, particular youth anti-social behaviour.

Action

To detect and deter this, officers will be patrolling during times the behaviour is identified to be most likely to take place. These patrols are recorded on the “hotspot” app to help keep track of policing activities and ensure all areas have been covered. Most recently, officers have been patrolling around schools to prevent potential youth anti-social behaviour.

There will also continue to build their intelligence around local drug usage to identify offenders and suspected drug dealing.
