Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Speeding
Action
Windsor Central team held a meeting with residents and the local Councillor to discuss the speeding issues. Residents felt that a zebra crossing or similar would be of use and the Cllr would be liaising with the Council about this. Residents have been informed about how to set up the local speeding community team. The team have also completed patrols of this area during busy periods and no vehicle's were identified as driving over the speed limit.
When Police have been present on Kings Road, there haven't been any speeding.
RBWM Cllr's were provided actions from a resident meeting where we haven't had any updates.
Residents were informed how to set up community speed watch.
The team will be sending out survey for 2025 priorities.
Issue
Cycling in pedestrian areas; breaching the highway code cycling down one way streets on Eton high street, and cycling on Peascod street, Windsor.
Action
Windsor Central Neighbourhood Teams will be holding bike operations during the year and Fixed Penalty Notices will be issued if anyone is found to be cycling within pedestrianised areas.
The team completed Op Lifecycle in December, seizing e scooters in Eton and also issuing tickets for those cycling down a one way system. residents updated via SM and TV ALERT.
central priorities for 2025 will be updated once resident surveys completed in Dec and Jan.
The team have engaged at Eton resident meetings and liaised with Councillors about the signs not being clear and what can be done about this in Eton and Peascod St.
In October the team completed enforcement in Eton high street where those contravening the one way system were fined and e scooters were seized.
officers completed Op Lifecycle in Eton, Fixed Notice Penalties were issued for contravening the one way system and two e scooters were seized. Officers sent out TV alert and social media post to update local community.
Issue
Anti-Social Behaviour
Action
Anti-social behaviour patrols have been completed by the team, in areas identified by the public. TV alerts and social media posts have been put out around the ongoing work around this issue. The public are encouraged to report any anti-social behaviour via Your Area on by calling 101. As policing is evidence led, we require the reports made by the public.
On 24th March the team were on patrol in Windsor central and individuals were stopped and warned about their behaviour. Their behaviour did not meet the requirements for a dispersal order but engagement from officers and PCSO's disrupted the problem.
April and May the team have completed patrols of Ward royal where reports of ASB have been made, patrols of vansitaart skate park, held a HYS stand there in May half term, and held a HYS stand in Eton wick in may half term too for residents to inform the local team of issues.
The team have worked on ASB complaints from residents on Clarence Road and worked together with ARBI housing which has seen the team support a vulnerable person to get supported living accommodation.
The team have completed patrols and engagement in Ward Royal estate throughout the year where issues of ASB were being reported. This has significantly reduced. On going partnership work continues in this area which includes funding request for CCTV.
Patrols of Vanittart Skate Park have been completed in December, resulting in drugs being seized, hotspot patrols on Alma Road again resulting in drugs being seized from a vehicle and community resolution provided.
The team have completed patrols in Windsor town, Eton and Eton Wick.
The team are going to be sending our resident priorities and completing have your say stands in January 2025 for residents to inform what they would like the team to focus on.
