Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Burglary
Action
As we head towards late Autumn and there is an increase in hours of darkness we are increasing our burglary patrols particularly in the late afternoon where houses are often empty.
Police are aware there have been 17 burglaries from 1st September, there appears to be no pattern to these crimes. Therefore patrols are carried out all over Cookham and the Bomber Estate. Due to the season burglars are aware that there may be gifts within your homes. On patrol police check that these are not on display, if you require a home security survey please contact TVP.
Issue
Drug Use Winter Hill
Action
During a recent drugs search the offender tried to run over a PC in his vehicle. He was arrested for multiple offences including supplying drugs and in now in prison. Regular patrols of the lookout point of Winter Hill have proved fruitful for officers. During person and vehicle searches a number of people have been given drugs diversion courses and if they don’t comply they will be prosecuted under the misuse of drugs act.
Police have patrolled Winter Hill regularly, issuing drug diversion courses to 19 offenders stopped in the area in possession of drugs. National Trust have been informed about the issues in Winter Hill and this is ongoing.
Issue
Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Action
We have been working with the priority crime team on patrol with the assistance of ANPR to target vehicle thefts. While on patrols we will also identify vehicles with property left inside. In the case of low value items we will send out a letter to the registered keeper. If you leave a lap top or other item in your car then we have been knocking on your doors asking people to remove it often in the middle of the night, to ensure thefts of this type are avoided where possible.
Police have carried out a detailed analysis on the area and currently while other areas are targeted, Maidenhead West does not seem to have an issue. Nevertheless, patrols are still carried out to ensure this remains the case.
