Action

Anti-Social Behaviour – focusing on aggressive begging and drug dealing
Local problem-solving work continues to target persistent aggressive beggars who are causing anti-social behaviour within the area and effecting the community. We have planned days of action, where we will target those who are causing problems and deal with them robustly, applying for criminal behaviour orders where possible to provide additional measures to control those who commit multiple offences.
We will continue to execute drugs warrants at addresses where drug dealing is taking place and protect those who are vulnerable and arrest those who are supplying drugs to others.
Knife Crime
Over the last few months, we have had a few incidents involving knives on our streets. This is very concerning to see; we will be carrying out extra patrols in these areas to provide visibility and reassurance to ensure that our communities feel safe.
We will also continue to target our most violent offenders including those that are involved in knife crime.
Acquisitive Crime – focusing on residential burglaries and shop thefts
Burglaries continue to be an issue, particularly in our student areas. We have continued to offer crime prevention advice to those that need it and will continue to patrol in areas where burglaries are occurring. Several key arrests have been made over the last few months.
Shop Thefts have also risen over the last few months, we will be targeting the repeat offenders and as above will apply for criminal behaviour orders where possible. These offenders are quite often linked to drug and alcohol abuse so will work with our partners to support those who want it.
