Issue

Vehicle ASB
Police have been informed that vehicle anti-social behaviour caused by people attending the Toton Park and Ride, and the A610 at Kimberley. These persons are driving vehicles in an anti-social manner. This is causing noise and distress to residents within the vicinity.

Action

The action taken is NPT have been patrolling the area to deter this behaviour against those involved. NPT has planned Op Wheelspin with the Road Crime Team around open spaces .

November update
Op Wheelspin was conducted 22nd and 23rd November at Toton Park and Ride, Broxtowe Country Park and the A610 area at Kimberley. Officers stopped vehicles, advised drivers and dispersed the vehicles. A Traffic Offence Report (TOR) was issued during the operations and a Section 59 Notice warning given for a vehicle being used in an anti-social manner. Enquiries are also ongoing into one vehicle which was uninsured. Further Op Wheelspin operations are planned for December.

December update
A further three Op Wheelspin were conducted 30/11/2024, 01/12/2024, 08/12/2024 at Toton P & R, A610 Kimberley and Chilwell Retail Park. Four traffic offence reports were issued to drivers for driving without due care and using a mobile phone. All vehicles were issued with S59 notices. There was not a large gathering of vehicles at any of these locations. This will no longer be a priority for Broxtowe NPA. Op Wheelspin will continue to run locally by NPT as part of the force wide Op Wheelspin.

Issue

Priority Oct - Dec 2024:
Theft offences across Beeston and Eastwood.
Currently the area of concern is business crime where NPT is focusing on theft from shops in Eastwood and Beeston. We are also investigating overnight shed break-ins, theft of motorbikes and thefts from vans in the Eastwood Stapleford and Beeston areas.

Action

The action taken is NPT, Response and the Priority Tasking Team have been conducting high visibility patrols in the areas overnight to deter and identify the offenders. Police have been informed two white males, aged in their early 20s are responsible for the shed break ins. If you have any information please contact NPT.
Shop thefts in Beeston and Eastwood. Since September three suspects have been arrested and 13 offences of shop theft have been charged.

November update
NPT has arrested three persons for shop theft, two included breaches of their CBOS and were jailed for 42 and 48 weeks. NPT has also visited local businesses to offer reassurance and crime prevention advice.

There has been some theft from vans in the Stapleford area overnight. Police are conducting inquiries into information received that three men are involved and a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf may be involved.

December update
Due to the increase in positive action on arrests and CBOs, shop thefts have decreased in November. Given the reduction in offences this will no longer be a priority in the next quarter.

Three persons were arrested for motorbike thefts in this last quarter which has led to a decrease in motorbike theft, with there being three offences in November. There had been a spate of theft from vans this has decreased with one offence since November. Due to the reduction in auto crime offences, this will no longer be a priority in the next quarter
