Current Priorities

Issue

Youth related ASB and theft in Corbridge and Wylam

Action

A problem-solving plan was created, and partnership work is ongoing to take positive action to identify the young people involved. We are working with local stores to prevent offending while using CCTV to identify suspects. High visibility patrols are carried out in key locations to prevent further ASB. We’re also making use of dispersal powers, letters to parents and diversion referrals where appropriate.

Issue

Motorcycle ASB in Prudhoe

Action

We have gathered partner information and reports from residents. We have made use of vehicle uplift powers and issued section 59 notices that enable us to seize identified vehicles. Work is ongoing to identify environmental actions to deter off-road use with additional support from our roads policing unit.

Issue

Drug activity and related issues in Prudhoe

Action

We are working to gather more intelligence on those involved. Working with partners to look at tenancy enforcement, closure orders and diversionary measures.

Four successful warrants executed in the past 5 months, including 3 large scale cannabis farms. These have all resulted in prosecutions and removing large quantities of drugs from the streets.
