Northumberland is one of the largest counties to police in England and Wales in terms of square miles. Save for the south east corner it is a largely rural county. We have police bases in Berwick, Alnwick, Morpeth, Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth, Prudhoe and Hexham.

Action

Officers have been carrying out crime prevention visits and making affected premises less of a target for offenders. This has been supported by high visibility patrols in key areas at key times.

Anti-social behaviour, including motorcycle disorder

Action

e have a dedicated motorcycle team working with our Neighbourhood Teams to tackle this issue with high visibility patrols, engagement with residents and councillors. We are making changes to the physical environment of repeatedly affected locations, whilst intelligence gathering with partners. We are carrying out vehicle uplifts of offenders and working with partners on days of action including housing visits.

Action

Gathering intelligence from communities to target drug possession and supply. Neighbourhood teams are making use of police powers including executing searches and warrants.
