Night time economy in York City Centre & Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG)
Action
Highly visible patrols in the Night-time Economy particularly on a weekend to prevent and detect violence and disorder, safeguard victims or potential victims. Working with partners including Door Staff, Street Rangers and Street Angels to keep everyone safe.
The prevention and detection of sexual violence by targeting predatory behaviour in the night-time economy. A range of re-visits/support in relation to Domestic Violence and/or abuse, intimidation or violence of any kind towards Women and Girls. Education and raising awareness via events and social media.

Action
Targeted Patrols of Hotspot areas, dealing with offender(s) for offences, working with partners & the Youth Offending Team to create bespoke sanctions/disposals for Youths involved in ASB through the Youth Outcomes Panel escalation process.

Retail Theft & Commercial Burglary
Action
Intelligence led targeted patrol of hotspot areas & targeting known offenders, raising awareness of crime prevention via revisits, social media, property marking events, assisting investigators with enquiries, target hardening address/locations to reduce the risk of people becoming victims of Burglary.

Cycle Theft & the roll out of Bike Register in 2025
Action
Targeting offenders and offences to improve our detection rates in conjunction with a programme of targeted prevention work by ensuring Cycles are registered and marked using Bike Register at the point of sale, during ownership or at the point of reporting stolen. This will include Cycle marking events and some internal work all to ensure North Yorkshire Police is more autonomously identify stolen cycles. Ensuring Cycle owners are educated around the vulnerability of certain Cycle locks and that more fit for purpose locks are used to deter offenders.
