Brief description - Violent related crime particularly robbery around Seven Kings Park, Newbury Park Underpass and back entrance to Seven Kings School in Charter Avenue. School pupils and commuters are targeted for their mobile phones when they leave school and train station.
During the spring and summer month’s incidents tend to increase due to longer daylight hours and greater footfall of people out and about.

S: SPECIFIC – Reduce the fear of violence on members of the public using the underpass to access the train station. Reduce fear of crime for park users and to reassure pupils walking to and from school.

M: MEASURABLE – Success will be measured by reduction of reported incidents.

A: ACHIEVABLE – This can be achieved by working with TfL/BTP staff at the underground station and Park Guard in Seven Kings Park. Schools Officers to educate pupils regarding use of mobile phones outside school.
•Stay Safe leaflet handouts to commuters and school pupils
•Crime Prevention stalls at Newbury Park Station and in Seven Kings Park
•Community Weapon sweeps in Seven Kings Park working with Park Guard
•Increase SNT patrols during rush hour at Newbury Park Station and after school in Seven Kings Park and Charter Avenue.
•VAWG walk and talks in Seven Kings Park
R: RELEVANT – To make sure that members of the public, school pupils and park walkers feel safe without fear of becoming victims of crime. This was mentioned at previous street briefings and public events.

T: TIMELY – This can be reassessed quarterly and discussed during ward panel meetings. Smart Survey results will be used to gauge public opinion and latest reviews. Agreed at latest ward panel meeting. SNT will reassess at next meeting.

Issue

Brief description - Reduce theft of motor vehicles, including catalytic convertor thefts and theft from motor vehicles. SNT to target roads with the highest reported volume of MV crime. Analytics state Stainforth Road and Aldborough Road South had the highest number of MV crimes in the past 3 months.
With more people out and about in the spring and summer months and warmer weather expected, vehicle windows are often left open, clothing, bags and laptops left inside vehicles are stolen. This is perfect for opportunists.

S: SPECIFIC – Reduce the fear of Motor Vehicle Crime for members of the public who use the main crime hot spot roads and commuters who park by Newbury Park Underground Station and Aldborough Road South to visit Seven Kings Park.

M: MEASURABLE – Results will be measured over three month’s period checking analytics and be discussed at next ward panel meeting.

A: ACHIEVABLE – This can be achieved by using stop and search powers on potential offenders.
•Promoting crime prevention advice on social media sites such as X, Next Door and OWL.
•Use the Safer Neighbourhood platforms to upload leaflets.
•Giving faraday pouches to keyless car owners.
•Promoting Op Moberly good practice advice.
•Use Immobolise.com to register and keep a record of property.
•Advise and deter.

R: RELEVANT – To make sure motorists and park users can go about their business without fear of becoming victims of motor vehicle crime.

Issue

Brief description - Friars Close is a Private Estate with 80 properties. Non-residents in vehicles gathering in large numbers smoking cannabis, drinking alcohol, playing loud music and littering late at night to early hours of the morning.
During the warmer months incidents of ASB increase.

S: SPECIFIC – Reduce the fear of noise and ASB for residents in private estate late at night and the early hours of the morning.

M: MEASURABLE – Success will be measured by reduction of reported incidents and volume of emails and phone calls.

A: ACHIEVABLE – This can only be achieved by working with Ringley Management Company and residents. Advise and deter.
•SNT to increase patrols when on duty.
•Street Briefings to gain more information.
•Work with Ringley Management to advise and create an action plan
•S59 to be issued to registered vehicle keepers when we have relevant evidence.
•Stop and Search powers to be used
•Intelligence reports to be inputted.

R: RELEVANT – Residents have asked police for help to resolve these issues. Ward panel agreed to add priority at latest ward panel meeting.
