Issue

Duckett Street, Shandy Park the issues were drug use/dealing violence and violent shop lifting (Sainsbury Hartford St)

Action

SNT officers have been conducting regular joint patrols around the location with Tower Hamlets, and carried out weapon sweeps around Beaumont Square and Shandy Park.
We are in regular contacts with Sainsbury’s and will be monitoring CCTV to reduce Drugs related theft offences in the area. We are now investigation series of linked theft, and will be arresting the suspect(s) in due course.

Issue

Emmott close there’s been issues in regards to rough sleepers in stairwells and underground car parks, linked to shop lighting and drugs related ASB

Action

On 30/08/24 PC Meleady and PCSO Rabby patrolled the area and entered one of the building, they inspected the top floor (Abandoned) where there’s been issues in regards to rough sleepers and the underground car parks.

Officers found insecure gate inside the building where you can simply use your hand to open the gate lock from the opposite end. There were drug paraphernalia and evidence of rough sleeping. SNT have notified Housing association to immediately secure the gate properly and to clean area. Hopefully this will reduce ASB in the area.

SNT officers checked the area and confirmed that local housing had secured the stairway gate with a padlock lock. They also removed all belongings from the underground parking area. There were no issues found with rough sleepers. Local SNT will perform reassurance visit of the stairwells and near to the address going forward. In addition, we are working together with the local housing association to identify and assist homeless individuals especially in the winter.
Severe weather emergency protocol (SWEP) has been activated by the Council- SNT will be
working closely with streetlink to support rough sleepers
