Current Priorities
Issue
Drug dealing and related crime, and anti-social behaviour
Action
The team engaged with the County Lines Intensification Week which saw 12 addresses visited and the vulnerable occupants safeguarded in terms of potential cuckooing - the term used when a vulnerable person's home is taken over by criminals. This involved working with partner agencies to ensure that we could provide the appropriate support.
There has been a focus on the investigations which are already in progress and the prevention element to try and build the intelligence picture for the longer-term plans. We have seen a high number of intelligence submissions and that is thanks to information from members of the public, and we would encourage anyone with any information to either contact the police or Crime Stoppers anonymously. There are some things that we can’t go into detail about but we will continue to publish the positive results on our social media platforms so please keep an eye out for them!
Issue
Fraud and prevention messaging.
Action
We were also concentrating on fraud and the associated safeguarding. We have held group sessions with community groups to better inform the public and those at risk of being victim to fraudsters. The team did some work with Natwest bank and got positive feedback. The Christmas campaign saw the distribution of crime prevention cards which were handed out to shops and banks.

Action
We conducted an Operation Excess day towards the end of October which saw a large number of vehicles stopped and traffic offence reports issued with various offences. There were also searches for drugs and one person was arrested for a recall to prison.
In December several vehicles were stopped, and the drivers were breath tested. Thankfully, they all returned a negative result which is fantastic!
