Current Priorities

Issue

Anti-social behaviour, particularly at or around empty or derelict buildings across the area of Knighton.

Action

We have seen a reduction in the number of incidents in relation to this priority. This will have been partly due to the weather, but we did increase our patrols around these areas and have spoken with numerous young people involved in anti-social behaviour. We have supported the council in some enforcement action they have been carrying out, which has helped make the pavilion on Welford Road more secure. We are closing this priority.

Issue

We want to work towards reducing the opportunities for theft from motor vehicle across Knighton, by working with residents and partner agencies.

Action

We have increased patrols in this area and distributed crime prevention advice and thankfully, the number of offences has reduced. Please ensure you are locking your vehicles and removing valuables. If you have a van, please try to remove tools, as some have been targeted across the force area.

Issue

We want to work towards reducing the opportunities for dwelling burglaries across Knighton, by working with residents and partner agencies.

Action

This is an ongoing priority for the Knighton area and as such forms part of our daily business. We have worked on identifying which streets have been targeted the most in the past and increasing our presence in those specific areas. You might see us parked in the area during the hours of darkness. The officers may be catching up on some admin, but by doing that in key areas, we hope to deter further offending.

Issue

Anti-social behaviour and drug consumption in the area of Pendlebury Drive.

Action

This is a new priority for the January to March period. Look out for updates from the end of January.
