ASB in Greenhill – several calls about groups of youths banging doors and windows

You said teenagers banging on and kicking doors in the Greenhill and Agar Nook area has been a problem recently.
We have added this as a priority for the next few weeks as a result. The lighter evenings and school holidays coming up could make this more of a concern and the Beat Team will manage this as a result.

We will wok with the Local Authority (NWLDC) and partners such as East Midlands Housing to target those children engaging in this anti-social behaviour. Their parents will be spoken with and where damage is caused the team will conduct a criminal investigation. It is not acceptable to disturb people in their homes and banging on doors or windows disturbing families and residents will not be tolerated.

You said vehicles speeding along residential roads is a problem and parking, particularly outside schools, is also a problem.

We will target this over the next three months and look at key roads where this is reported. Some streets already brought to the Beat Team’s attention for speeding include Grange Road, Hugglescote; Talbot Road, Thringstone and Station Road, Ibstock. We will include these roads and others in our patrols over the quarter.

Locations around many of the primary schools have been raised as having problems with people parking inconsiderately or unsafely. Ibstock, Ellistown, Hugglescote and Whitwick have all been visited. The team has completed a lot of work on this over the last few months and we will keep this up over April, May and June across the Beat area.

You said off road motorbikes are causing anti-social behaviour (ASB) with their noise and dangerous riding, flouting of road traffic regulations and disrespect for the environment.

We have made this one of the Beat Team’s priorities for the next quarter as a result. We will work with partner agencies such as NWLDC and landowners to target those responsible. We will respond to reports from the community, we will patrol key locations at key times and use our ASB and legal powers.

Those caught can expect to be dealt with for ASB by the Local Authority and have their bike seized by the police.
