The Greater Hinckley neighbourhood beat covers all parts of Hinckley except for the town centre.

The beat is a large residential area which also includes several schools, a college and three supermarkets. It also has a number of large industrial estates.

There is a 'community house' established on the Wykin estate which is regularly attended by the beat officers and acts as a focal point for members of the community to raise issues affecting their neighbourhood.

Current Priorities

Issue

Speeding of vehicles along a number of roads on the beat, breaches of weight restrictions and bridge strikes all lead to a feeling amongst the community that road safety is an issue. Along with multiple parking issues in regards to school times and busy roads

Users driving with no documents such as Insurance, MOT and Tax. With no licenses.

Action

Whilst OpFlux can deal with the, shall we say more exciting elements - dealing with intoxicated drivers, occasional pursuits, stolen vehicles and street racers....…the Op is about road safety, and preventing harm and injury to road users. Risk can occur from things as simple as people parking quite selfishly and forcing pedestrians into the road.

Advice notice left this time, enforcement will take place should vehicles continue to be parked obstructing the pavement in this way. If you are aware of any similar issues, please drop us a message.

Issue

Anti-Social Behaviour - Ongoing issues with large groups of youths, particularly on public parks and open spaces, fighting, playing loud music, being abusive, drinking and using drugs.

Use of vehicle driving erratically and having noisy exhaust and revving the engines.

Action

Reports of a group of youths kicking and banging doors and windows around Magee Close, Hinckley. Neighbours were reporting regularly over a period of 2-3 weeks, causing harassment alarm and distress to vulnerable residents. CCTV was received and of a quality good enough to identify those involved. Regular visits, welfare checks and patrols were undertaken by local NH26 Officer PCSO 6610 in order to try and catch those responsible. A joint effort between HBBC,
Redmoor School resulted in all being identified and named. School was visited and youths spoken to. Warning letters issued and no further problems.

A reported and particularly nasty fight between females on Richmond Park -
Local residents were particularly frightened and feedback
Footage was received and fight captured on attending Officers bodycams.
All involved were quickly identified and Schools involved in dealing with them. Main perps are being closely monitored.
Regular patrols by the NH26 Beat Team were made around the park and locality in order to offer reassurance and prevent any further escalation.

Issue

Reports of drug dealing and using at a number of addresses on the beat, with high interest to the rest of the county and other counties. This is attracting undesirables to the location and often resulting in ASB and disorder at the addresses.

Action

A regular location in Hinckley ( Charles St ) has been causing problems with local neighbours over a period of 12-18mmonths.
Known nominals at the location have been seen dealing and having numerous suspicious visitors. ASB and inconsiderate behaviour.
Regular intel and patrols/reports to HBBC have now resulted in positive action. ( NH 26 Neighbourhood Team )
All staying at the location will be evicted, hopefully bringing an end to the long term misery caused.

Cannabis use and alleged dealing around residential areas are being targeted, with regular reports received from concerned neighbours. Intel and CCTV footage being requested and submitted. Known nominals and perpetrators are being monitored.
