This neighbourhood beat covers Thorpe Astley and the Meridian Leisure and Business Parks. The area is a vastly expanding development situated close to the M1 motorway, where it borders the Braunstone estate near to Braunstone Lane.

This neighbourhood beat also covers Braunstone Town - a large residential area, covered by Blaby District Council, with numerous local shops, schools and three public houses.

Current Priorities

Issue

Youths congregating, loud music playing and general anti-social behaviour has been highlighted in the Braunstone town area.

Action

We have received numerous calls in relation a male in a tent on Franklin Park. Numerous attempts were made to locate the male as the tent had been located. Further visits saw the tent had been removed.

Issue

Reports of parking obstructions have been a focus from the public and as such we will endeavour to attend reports of criminal parking.

Action

We will endeavour to deal with any incident of parking which is criminal this can include obstruction of the highway and vehicles parked in dangerous positions.
PC Lennox has been out patrolling Braunstone Town, no vehicles were found to be parked dangerously. He observed Bramble Way at school pick up time, but was pleased to see no major issues identified.

Issue

Persons driving dangerously or in an anti-social manner. This can include reckless, careless and inconsiderate driving including speeding and refusal to obey street signage.

Action

We will endeavour to deal with any reports of poor driving or consistent problem drivers on the roads. We will work with local authorities should repeat hotspots be identified to improve road conditions for all motorists.
