Current Priorities
Issue
Theft from Retail Premises
Action
We continue to target those responsible taking action wherever possible.
Taking prompt and effective action against those responsible for theft and kindred offences. Numerous arrests have been made and persons charged with these offences.
Issue
Drug dealing/Drug Use - The main concern raised by residents is drug use and drug dealing on Homestone Gardens, Croyland Green, Bowhill Grove, Stornaway Road and Tarbat Road.
Action
Local Officers continue to provide high visibility patrol and ongoing engagement with local residents.
Safeguarding with a multi-agency approach to vulnerable adults has been completed and the identification and safeguarding of other vulnerable persons is paramount.
We utilise our available legal powers to stop and search, to apply for premises warrants and we work with the local council teams to target those who cause most harm in our community.
A number of warrants were completed in relation to this across the beat in September.
Issue
Road Safety - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area.
Action
The team continue to address your concerns regarding road safety in the local area through a combination or partnership working and enforcement.
By working in conjunction with partner agencies and listening to the local community we are able to identify high-risk areas and develop longer-term solutions through traffic calming measures and more appropriate road signage.
Beat officers have been and will continue to provide patrols at local schools at key times to improve the safety of pupils, parents and road users.
In the month of October, the beat will be working with the wider East Leicester Team to tackle road safety concerns as part of OP Syphon addressing issues including speeding, dangerous parking, seatbelt usage and more.
Please contact the team if you have any concerns.
