Current Priorities

Issue

Drug Dealing/Drug Taking - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area.

Action

The team are continually working to address these concerns by working along side partner agencies and develop intelligence to aid in enforcement.

Once enforcement has taken place, we will continue to work with partner agencies in the form of the Local Authority/Housing Associations and Landlords to secure evictions to minimise the potential for reoccurrence at those locations.

The team are actively using intelligence and partnership working to tackle drug dealing and drug use in the local area.
By working with the local community and partner agencies we can target and address key areas of concerns and take appropriate action. This collaborative approach ensures that we not only disrupt the distribution of drugs we can also signpost those affected by drug misuse to our partner agencies who can assist with treatment and rehabilitation.

Issue

Road Safety - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area.

Action

The team continue to address your concerns regarding road safety in the local area through a combination or partnership working and enforcement.

By working in conjunction with partner agencies and listening to the local community we are able to identify high-risk areas and develop longer-term solutions through traffic calming measures and more appropriate road signage.
Beat officers have been and will continue to provide patrols at local schools at key times to improve the safety of pupils, parents and road users.

In the months of October, November, and December, the beat will be working with the wider East Leicester Team to tackle road safety concerns as part of OP Syphon addressing issues including speeding, dangerous parking, seatbelt usage and more.

We have in the month of November completed joint partnership working with the Council to address parking issues at the local school.

Please contact the team if you have any concerns.

Issue

ASB General - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern around green spaces.

Action

The local beat team has identified that there is a theme regarding anti-social behaviour occurring on and around the local green spaces. We are committed to addressing these issues by working alongside the local authority, local residents and community groups/organisations.

We aim to create more enjoyable public spaces through increased patrols and enforcement efforts to deter those committing antisocial behaviour whilst our collaborative efforts will help implement long-term solutions.
