Issue

Darker Nights
With darker evenings approaching the beat team will be focussing on the prevention and detection of burglary dwellings on the beat. Updates will be provided via the City Centre Facebook page and Leicestershire Police Website.

Action

November Update
Following on from last months update the team have been completing dedicated high visibility patrols in areas where crime patterns suggest there be an increase with robberies and burglaries. Crime prevention advice has been given and members of public encouraged to sign up for ‘Neighbourhood Link’.

Issue

Theft from persons
The beat team will be focussing on ensuring showing a high visibility presence in areas which have historically been targeted for thefts. With a number of beat surgeries and engagements planned to speak with the public and give crime prevention advice

Action

November Update
The beat team continue patrolling ‘hot spot’ areas which have been identified as possible locations thefts may occur. The team have ensured to visit several venues and residential buildings on the beat to give crime prevention advice. With Christmas coming high visibility patrols will be increased for public reassurance and for deterring crime.

Issue

Business Crime
Shoplifting within the City has detrimental effects to both businesses and visitors. The Beat Team will be engaging with businesses to give advice for the prevention of crime.

Action

November Update
The beat team have continued to work with the courts to issue Criminal Behaviour Orders to prevent reoffending to those causing the most harm. As Christmas approaches the team will conducting high visibility patrols around businesses within the beat to deter crime and provide public reassurance.
