Neighbour Disputes
Action
We are aware of the impact long-running neighbour disputes can have, especially on people’s emotional and mental well-being.
We are committed to helping the community by working closely with involved parties, and our partner agencies, to alleviate the upset caused.
We are continuing to make an active effort to respond to concerns from residents throughout various areas in Waltham, liaising with Navigo, Housing agencies, and the local council to ensure the correct action is taken, and vulnerabilities of individuals identified and accurately assessed.
We would encourage you to contact your local team if you want advice and we will do our very best to either assist you ourselves or by referring/signposting you to the agency best placed to do so.
Issue
Burglary:
There has been an increase in acquisitive crime around the Waltham area, this includes burglaries and attempted burglaries on residential properties. We are aware that a community impact has been felt in the area, having spoken to residents, its affecting not only their properties but the residents feel uneasy about the rise of crime in the area.
In dealing with this crime, we are working closely with our partner agencies such as North East Lincs Council and VANEL.
We ask for residents to remain vigilant in making sure their properties, outbuildings and sheds are all locked and secured to keep their items safe.
We also encourage residents to call 101 or report to us online if they see any suspicious behaviour or have any crimes to report. If there are crimes ongoing, please call 999 so we can look to apprehend offenders.
Action
Your local officers have been carrying out Humber Talking in the areas seeking boosting local confidence and feedback from residents.
Local officers will gather and develop intelligence to identify who may be responsible.
Obtain assistance from the Rural Crime Team and Special Constabulary to carry out joint patrols in rural areas alongside your local officers who, when able, will change shifts to be able to accommodate this.
Please remember to lock all your doors and windows, not only your home, but the garage, sheds, outbuildings, and not forgetting your car. Many crimes are committed by opportunistic criminals who just go round an area trying door handles in case they get lucky.
If you can afford it, consider buying an alarm, CCTV camera such as a Ring Door Bell, or even a full system.
Dont leave any valuables on view, especially this time of year.
If you see anything suspicious, report it to the police.
