Current Priorities

Issue

Begging and street drinking on Newland Avenue and Beverley Road

Action

The Neighbourhood team have been working closely with partner agencies and homeless Charities to give support and help for the homeless in the area. This work is ongoing and I am delighted to tell you that we have found accommodation for seven homeless people who are having continued support.

Our priority is to always support and engage with beggars and make a difference if we can. Each person is dealt with individually and holistically.

The team are conducting regular patrols between the hours of 7am to 11pm.

Team the team have done the following this month.

Street surgeries have been conducted on Oak Road playing fields and on Newland Avenue.

Issue

Graffiti is becoming an issue in the area with tags appearing on local businesses and properties.

Action

The Neighbourhood policing team have raised this concern re graffiti in the area and have now placed it as a current ward priority. We are working with Hull City Council CCTV operatives to try and capture and identify those that are responsible.

Since we have been looking into the tags we have charged two persons with criminal damage by causing damage to properties with graffiti tags.

If you know anyone responsible for tags in the area then please contact the local neighbourhood policing team by email or call 101.

Issue

Anti Social Behaviour has been an issue in recent Months/Weeks on the Beverley Road area between Ryde Street and Clough Road.

Action

Our officers have been able to identify one group of youths who were causing issues on a regular basis.

One of this group has been investigated for an offence of Criminal damage and found guilty.

Others have been identified and dealt with for causing ASB These individuals have been referred to our partner agencies Youth Offending Services, Council ASB Team who have been working with the individuals and their families. This has proved to be a successful approach and has greatly reduced incidents of this nature.
