Targeting anti-social behaviour through off-road bikes being ridden in a careless and inconsiderate manner in Goffs Oak Cheshunt West.

The Cheshunt West Neighbourhood Policing Team have continued to work with Broxbourne Parks Patrol and other agencies to disrupt those riding off road bikes within the area.

Anyone identified participating in this activity will be dealt with robustly, which can result in the seizure of bikes.

A Public Space Protection Order, covering the whole of the Borough of Broxbourne, came into force at midnight on 30th July 2023, for a period of three years, prohibiting anyone being the driver of a motorbike, quad bike, scrambler, mini moto or any other mechanically propelled vehicle to act in a manner deemed by an authorised person to be anti-social and is or is likely to be causing nuisance, alarm, harassment or distress to any other person.

Failure to comply with this order is a criminal offence.

Tackling reports of illegal car meets taking place in Cheshunt West.

The Broxbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team has been responding to reports of organised car meets within the Borough and using powers available to them, such as the use of dispersal powers under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

During December 2024 your Neighbourhood Policing Team have continued to work with partner agencies, such as Broxbourne Council, and local businesses to target those participating in car meets and letters have been issued to the registered owners of vehicles identified as being involved.

Should these vehicle continue to come to police attention, sanctions including court injunctions, fines, endorsements of driving licences, and seizure of vehicles under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 will be considered.
