Speeding in the villages – Essendon, Welham Green, Cuffley, Brookmans Park, Little Heath and Newgate Street

We've been working with the Road Policing Team and speed checks have been carried out on Essendon Hill, by the entrance to Mill Green Forge. We spoke to people at the forge to hear about their concerns and provide reassurance. The checks, which were carried out, between 9.15am and 10.10am resulted in three traffic offence reports being made. One person was driving at 38 mph and two others were driving at 37mph. Five other people were verbally warned for driving between 30mph and 35 mph.
We also crossed the road to face up the hill towards the village. One warning was given here.
We spoke to a number of dog walkers and drivers who thanked us for carrying out the checks.
We will be returning again.
