Action
We are working hard with our Partners to solve some of the long-term issues around these Priorities whilst increasing visible Police patrols on foot and cycle throughout the town. Your local officers are supporting the most vulnerable in our communities and relentlessly targeting those who look to cause harm.
Op Spider, our response to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) has seen ASB drop by 49% in three years. Despite this drop we are continuing with our now proven Op Spider tactics to target Anti-Social Behaviour with a view to sustaining and further reducing the impact it is having on the Bay. We are targeting Drug use and supply by working closely with licenced premises, supporting vulnerable people to seek help with addiction and intelligence led patrols in uniform and plain clothes – using our Stop and Search powers and premises closure powers. All of South Wight NPT has been given additional specialist training to deal with Road Safety Concerns and are working closely with our Roads Policing Team to enforce road traffic offences & running educational inputs. We are looking for volunteers to start a Community Speed watch Scheme – please contact us if this interests you!
We are working closely with the local authority to support them in taking action with Dog Fouling, Fly Tipping and Parking concerns.
Thank you for all of your continued support! Say hello when you see us on Patrol – we would love to hear from you!
All the Best
