Current Priorities
Issue
Targeted policing of violent individuals causing multiple issues in the town through violence and alcohol.
Action
Prolific offender arrested and recalled to prison. Police liaising with Probation regarding custody.
Issue
Reducing youth-related antisocial behaviour in and around the town, including the areas of the Abbey Grounds, St. Michael’s Park and Watermoor in particular
Action
Proactive patrols of these areas continue on a daily basis, along with concentrated periods of patrols and visibility. Taking every opportunity to engage with park users. Ongoing communication with the town council is in place to ensure information is up-to-date and we’re looking at ways to subtly change the design of these areas to identify and take action against offenders. Further targetted patrols to continue in March.
Issue
Local officers targetting night time economy issues in Cirencester town and those who cause anti social behaviour through drunkeness. Local team working with RAU partners to raise awareness of alcohol related offences
Action
Regular liaison with RAU and local licensees in conjuction with Police Licensing Officer.
Issue
Inconsiderate parking in Chesterton Park by Cirencester College students and targetting off road motorised bikes in and around the Kingshill/Beeches area.
Action
Local team aware and will be conducting extra patrols. We would also welcome more local intelligence from the community on this.
