Let’s talk …. and walk
Meet us at Barnston Village Hall on 11th January at 9am .
Get to know some of the officers who are working to protect you and keep you safe by joining them on a walk in the area. Talk to us about your community concerns and show us where you don’t feel safe. Point out where you see people acting antisocially. Let us know if you avoid a place because you feel scared, intimidated by others, or because criminal activity happens there.
Sometimes we’ll be joined by our local partners too. They’ll also listen to what you have to say and look to resolve the problems they can fix.
Don’t forget if you can’t make it, you can tell us where you have felt unsafe through the StreetSafe service at any time. Streetsafe is a service for anyone to anonymously tell us about public places where you have felt or feel unsafe, because of environmental issues, e.g., street lighting, abandoned buildings or vandalism and/or because of some behaviours, e.g. being followed or verbally abused. To find out more or to make a report go to www.police.uk/pu/notices/streetsafe/street-safe/
Please note that the event may be cancelled at short notice due to operational demands. If this happens, we will let you know as soon as we can by posting on the district’s local police Facebook and Twitter pages.

Let’s talk about fraud prevention
Our fraud prevention advisors are going to be offering advice on how you, your family, friends, neighbours (and anyone else you want to tell) can avoid becoming victims of fraud. Every year, the British public loses billions of pounds to fraudsters. We want to stop this from happening to people in Essex by giving you the information you need to keep your money safe and ahead of their criminal tactics.
Don’t forget, if you can’t make it, we have lots of fraud advice on our website www.essex.police.uk/fraud.
