Issue
Rural Crime
One of the priorities for the next 3 months will involve supporting our rural communities.
Rural crime includes the theft of farm machinery, the worrying of sheep by out of control dogs as well as poaching.
We will
Carry out targeted patrols in areas where issues have been highlighted as well as in areas that could be potentially targeted.
We will look at ways of target hardening areas showing a specific weakness.
We will work with specialist Police departments and partner agencies where it is required.

Update: 11 September 2024 - TEIGN VALLEY PATROLS
OFFICERS HAVE BEEN PROACTIVELY PATROLLING THE RURAL OUTLAYING AREAS OF THE TEIGN VALLEY IN ORDER TO ACT AS A DETERENT FOR RURAL CRIME.

Antisocial behaviour
For the next 3 months one of our priorities will be concerns raised by our communities around Anti Social behaviour including drug use in public spaces and particularly parks.
We will work to address these issues by the following methods.
Targeted patrols in areas where issues have been highlighted.
We will engage with our communities to identify those seen to be causing the issues.
This will involve engagement with involved individuals, education and if necessary, enforcement using proportionate actions including civil and legal avenues.
We will carry out high visibility patrols in any area identified.
We will look at ways of target hardening areas showing a specific weakness.
We will work with specialist Police departments and partner agencies where it is required.

Update: 11 September 2024 - ASB EXMINSTER
OFFICERS HAVE BEEN UNDERTAKING PATROLS IN EXMINSTER IN ORDER TO DEAL WITH ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED AROUND THE OPEN SPACES.

Traffic concerns
Local communities have highlighted concerns around speeding vehicles, vehicles parking dangerously, and vehicles ignoring traffic and parking restrictions.
For the next 3 months we will work to address these issues in the following way,
Monitor areas identified by the community.
Support schools who have identified concerns of illegally parked vehicles causing a hazard at drop off and pick up time
We will work with specialist Police departments and partner agencies where it is required.
This will involve engagement with involved individuals, education and if necessary, enforcement using proportionate actions including civil and legal avenues
Action
Update: 11 September 2024 - Speed Enforcement
Members of the Special Constabulary, Vision Zero South West as well as Local Neighbourhood Officers have been undertaking speed enforcement in various areas. This work will continue as we are sadly still taking reports of speeding vehicles across many towns/villages.

Chudleigh Police Surgery
The Chudleigh Neighbourhood Policing Team will be available between 10 and 11am in The Rest Centre, Chudleigh Town Hall, Market Way, Chudleigh to answer queries and offer advice on issues of a Policing nature.
