Update: 21 September 2024 - Anti social behaviour
When some of our communities hear about ASB they frequently assume that it is young people in groups in parks causing a nuisance.
Although this is sometimes the case, the Neighbourhood Team have spent a lot of time recently dealing with antisocial behaviour involving adults and their poor behaviour. This includes disputes between neighbours getting out of hand as well as alcohol induced issues and even poor driving attitudes.
Over the last few months the Neighbourhood Team have been partnership working with the Teignbridge Anti Social behaviour officer and Housing associations to reduce some of these issues.
Words of advice is always a place to start with those involved however, we have also been using the Anti Social Behaviour escalation process which has seen several people issued with Community Protection warnings and then Community Protection notices. These are civil orders but are backed up with legal sanctions including fines for breeches.
Some ASB can put your tenancy at risk which is why we also work with Housing officers.
We will still be patrolling parks and town centres to monitor any anti social behaviour, particularly as it is getting dark earlier and Halloween on the way
Issue
Traffic concerns
For the next 3 months we will be carrying out targeted community identified issues around traffic concerns.
Traffic concerns, including speeding vehicles in community identified areas, supporting schools which identify specific parking issues and liaising with both specialist Police teams and partner agencies where necessary.

Update: 20 September 2024 - Traffic concerns
The Town council and local residents have highlighted concerns to the Neighbourhood Team about drivers ignoring the 20mph limit in Ashburton.
The 20mph limit is completely enforceable and we will be asking the Safer Camera partnership van to find a suitable site for enforcement.
The Neighbourhood Team will also be out monitoring, stopping and educating drivers exceeding the limit. Where necessary enforcement by the team will also take place.
Please obey the 2o mph limit it is there for a reason
