Current Priorities

Issue

Safer Business Week

14th October is the start of Safer Business Week. The neighbourhood team will be in Totnes throughout the week visiting businesses and engaging with local residents and carrying out patrols. This is to support local businesses and provide information on how to report crime.

Issue

Persistent and Severe Anti Social Behaviour

Totnes Neighbourhood Team will be focusing on youth related ASB, drug and alcohol related ASB, offences under the vagrancy act, unlicensed music events and ASB mass gatherings.

As a neighbourhood team, we understand that the local community and visitors to the area want to feel safe. We are actively engaging and making appropriate interventions to reduce Anti Social Behaviour in Totnes and our surrounding parishes.

We will be taking a zero tolerance attitude towards offences relating to violence and weapons.

Issue

Disruption to drug possession and supply

Totnes Neighbourhood Team are committed to removing dangerous and illegal drugs from our towns and parishes.

Drug use comes hand in hand with ASB and crime related incidents, therefore we are taking a zero tolerance policy to drug possession and supply.

Mobile patrols, warrants and pre planned disruption activities will be a core part of our policing priorities in order to reduce crime, ASB and prevent medical emergencies.

Issue

Homeless Intervention

Totnes Neighbourhood Team are committed to tackling homelessness in Totnes and the surrounding area.

The team work hard to tackle the issue and work in collaboration with the local council, housing and local charities in order to facilitate positive outcomes for individuals and offer stability.
