Issue
Drugs
Drugs are directly linked to both violence and ASB in our community, and clearly contribute towards these other two priorities. We are working hard to build our intelligence picture to and reduce drug related crimes on our streets. This is a national issue, identified by local problems, and have a real community impact. We rely heavily upon community based intelligence, and what you see could be the missing piece to our puzzle. So please either report anonymously to Crime Stoppers, or directly to Devon and Cornwall Police.

Update: 30 September 2024 - September Update
As we come into the Autumn, we reflect on our busy summer. Our priorities will remain the same as we enter September, with an increased interest in our drugs and anti-social behaviour priorities to reflect the wishes of our communities. We have been really proactive with drugs warrants and closure orders of late, and we will continue to protect vulnerable people and pursue offenders bringing them to justice in these areas. We will continue to listen to your concerns as we continue to work hard in these areas. As ever we could not do the work we do without information from you all, so please get in touch by the appropriate channels.
Issue
Shoplifting and Retail Crime
Entering the next quarter, it has come through consolidation and review that our priorities be reviewed accordingly. If you follow the updates within our website, newsletter, alert system, and social media pages you will have seen we have been focussing hard on drugs and anti-social behaviour within Bodmin Sector. We now look to add to our priorities by adapting our vision and really focus on Retail Crime and Shoplifting.

Update: 23 October 2024 - October Update
Last week (14th October) saw the return of Safer Business Action Week across the country, and as a result we were engaging with our communities and business owners. It is clear that there is a lack of reporting of this crime type, and we want to reinvigorate trust and public confidence in reporting to us so we can look to escalate your concerns and pursue offenders as a result. There is a clear link between this crime type and our other two priorities of drugs and anti-social behaviour and therefore we will be really focussing to make a difference in our 3 main retail centres, as well as further afield.
On 21st October Insp Stonehill attended the Camel Valley Area Partnership Meeting and shared the news of this new priority which was welcomed by partners and constituents alike. We are committed to working hard with partners to target harden our retail centres with crime prevention advice, regular beat patrols, and a better intelligence partnership with business owners to tackle this issue.
Issue
Anti-Social Behaviour
Anti-Social Behaviour is something we are passionate about in Devon and Cornwall Police as a whole. We work closely with partners to problem-solve local issues, to ensure that everyone feels comfortable within their local community.
