Current Priorities

Issue

1. Youth related ASB in public spaces
2. Street Drinkers Long Eaton Town Centre and surrounding areas
3. Retail thefts

Action

1. We will analyse police data to identify local hot spots for youth related ASB related incidents. With this information we will seek identities of individuals involved to tackle these issues and ensure regular high visibility patrols in designated areas are carried out to provide reassurance. Joint work with our youth engagement team to also be carried out so involved individuals can be held accountable for their actions and attend consequence sessions as a result of their behaviour.
2. We will analyse police data to identify hot spots for street drinkers to identify those who have a problematic relationship with alcohol. SNT Officers will engage with people concerned and referrals to partner agencies will be made to enable them to access support. If the problems continue SNT Officers will use relevant powers including the enforcement of any Public Space Protection Order that is in place.
3. Officers to conduct regular patrols in the town centre and surrounding areas. Regular engagement visits will be conducted with retail premises within the Long Eaton area to provide reassurance and offer crime prevention advice. Engagement with key stakeholders such as local businesses and shop owners. Review incident reports using police data to identify any individuals involved and take robust action to prevent deterioration of crimes and incidents being reported.
