Alvaston is situated approximately three-to-four miles from Derby city centre. This area also covers the Pride Park business estate, including Derby County Football Club.

Action

1 Anti Social Behaviour - Hi visibility patrols in the locations identified. Working alongside all our partner agencies including supporting Communities our Youth Engagement Team and engage with young people and arrange diversionary activities in the local area. Utilise powers which are suitable for other disposals such as Acceptable Behaviour contracts, Community protection notices, working with Remedy, restorative justice. Educate young people and make them aware of the consequences their actions could have and impact the Community. Ensure the Youth Engagement Team are going into schools and carrying out engagements through educational inputs. Working closely with our young people and signposting them to suitable activities whether it be at youth clubs, Beavers, and scouts hut. Complete Derbyshire Alert surveys with young people give them a voice. ask them what they would like to do in the area. Encourage them to work closely with local business. Safer neighbourhood Team to Provide reassurance to the Community.
2 Drug Dealing - Carry out a mixture of regular Visible and plain clothes patrols in the area to disrupt drug dealing activity. Stop and search individuals. Ensure we gather and develop intelligence and act on information provided by the local community with enforcement actions such as executing warrants for positive outcomes.
3 Burglary shop theft - Safer neighbourhood Team to provide Hi visible and plain clothes patrols in hotspot locations, visit locations identified and conduct H2h and CCTV trawls to identify offenders. Issue crime prevention advice through the many Community Engagement initiatives and events arranged on the area. incorporate Derbyshire talking surveys whilst providing reassurance to the communities. Regularly review intelligence and crime trends to identify offenders and carry out enforcement where necessary. Keep the Community updated through our Derbyshire alert and social media channels.
4 Tackle the Illegal Use of E-Scooters- High Visible patrols in hotspot locations. Review intelligence and information received from the public and identify suspects riding on privately owned E scooters that seen ridden on the highway, canal path and public open spaces like the park and the shopping precincts. Educate the public about the new seizure powers issued to PCSO'S under Section 165 Road Traffic Act 1988 and ensure these E-scooters are seized for no insurance.
5 Vulnerability - We have close working relationships with the local authorities, local housing associations and other partner agencies, this allows us to identify those at risk and work together with our partners to ensure all aspects are being considered. We visit our most vulnerable victims regularly, sometimes daily, offering reassurance and support. We have also taken robust action against the offenders, making arrests at the first opportunity and enforcing strict bail conditions, offering an extra layer of support to the victims.
