Current Priorities
Issue
1. Drug dealing on Ripley Greenway and surrounding areas.
2. Anti-Social Behaviour and nuisance vehicles on Oxford Street, Ripley.
3. Anti-Social Behaviour on off-road motorbikes and mopeds around the Porterhouse Estate.
Action
1. High visibility patrols in the area to disrupt drug activity and build intelligence. Take positive action, considering using plain clothed officers to identify drug dealings, conduct stop/searches where the grounds are met and execute warrants where appropriate. Complete safeguarding and offer support for victims.
2. High visibility patrols within the location. Work alongside our Youth Engagement Team to engage with the young people and signpost them to positive activities taking place within the local area, deliver inputs in schools to educate young people of the affects anti-social behaviour has on victims. Issue anti-social behaviour letters for young people found to be engaging in anti-social behaviour and consider other other suitable disposals such as Immediate Justice and Acceptable Behavioural Contract. Any vehicles found to be causing a nuisance in the location use our section 59 powers to robustly deal with the owners/drivers.
3. High visibility patrols within the location, working alongside our off-road bike team and utilise our drone capabilities to identify those involved. Positive action to be taken against the riders by issuing section 59 warnings or seizing the bikes under 165 and deal with any driving offences being committed.
