Waingroves and Langley Mill are situated between the market towns of Ripley and Heanor. They are former mining communities which are in a semi-rural location.
Langley Mill has close social and economic links with Eastwood that lies less than a mile away over the county border in Nottinghamshire. It has good communication links with a railway station and road links to Nottingham and the M1.

Action
1. High visibility patrols in the area, build intelligence to identify those involved. Work alongside our off-road bike team and utilise our drone capabilities. Positive action to be taken against riders by issuing section 59 warnings or seizing the motorbikes under section 165 road traffic act. Work alongside our partners at Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership, utilising our Public Space Protection Order powers.
2. High visibility patrols at peak times to engage with the young people involved in anti-social behaviour. Work alongside our Youth Engagement Team to deliver inputs at local schools to educate the young people of the effects anti-social behaviour has on victims and the community. Signpost the young people to positive diversionary activities within the local area. Issue anti-social behaviour letters to young people found engaging in anti-social behaviour, and consideration to be given for other suitable disposals, such as Immediate Justice, Acceptable Behavioural Contracts. Work alongside our partners at Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership, utilising our Public Space Protection Order powers.

The Codnor fete is a typical village fete with music, (Calypso band), dance displays, entertainment, activities (include bouncy castles and slides, junior rides, fun dog show, tombola, stalls) food and beverages (not selling alcohol)
