Current Priorities

Issue

1. Drug dealing in Swanwick.
2. Tackling off-road motorbikes and e-scooters across Somercotes and Riddings.
3. Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour across all recreational areas on the Safer Neighbourhood area.

Action

1. High visibility patrols in the area to disrupt drug related activity and build intelligence. Plain clothed officers to be utilised, complete stop/search where grounds are met and execute warrants where appropriate.
2. High visibility patrols in the area, build intelligence to identify those involved. Work alongside our off-road bike team and utilise our drone capabilities. Positive action to be taken against riders identified by issuing section 59 warnings or seizing the motorbikes under section 165 road traffic act. Stop all e-scooter riders, engage and educate with the laws of e-scooters and seize e-scooters under section 165A.
3. High visibility patrols at peak times in an evening and weekends. Work alongside our youth engagement team to engage with the young people, signposting them to positive activities within the local area. Deliver inputs within schools to educate young people of the effects anti-social behaviour has on victims and the community. Issue anti-social behaviour letters to young people found engaging in anti-social behaviour, and consideration to be given for other suitable disposals, such as Immediate Justice and Acceptable Behavioural Contracts. Work alongside our partners at Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership, utilising our Public Space Protection Order powers.
