Action

We have unfortunately seen an increase in reports of drug use and drug dealing in the area. We have increased patrols to build intelligence, gather evidence and offer reassurance to the local community. We will continue to target drug dealers in the area and attempt to bring them to justice Sadly, over the last couple of months we have been dealing with tragic incidents on our roads that have been devastating to several families. Working with our colleagues from the Roads Policing Unit we conducted patrols over several of our busy roads in the High Peak over a busy Bank Holiday weekend. We engaged with bikers and car users with regard to road safety. We will continue to work with our partner agencies to spread the word and keep all road users safe With ongoing reports of shoplifting in the local area we are continuing to target offenders and support shop staff and shoppers alike. We will soon be launching an operation to target shop theft. We will be holding community events in some of our busiest town centre shops to engage with shop staff and shoppers and gather intelligence with regard to prolific offenders. We will also be carrying out high-visibility patrols.
