This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Bolsover Town. It belongs to the North East Local Policing Unit.
 
Bolsover is a small market town with a strong mining and historical heritage. It is located within Bolsover District Council and is approximately 6 miles from Chesterfield town centre. Bolsover has many attractions from the 17th century including the castle and buildings which now make shops and businesses in the town centre. There are also long walks which show the history of the castle and the strong mining heritage that Bolsover possesses.

Current Priorities

Issue

1. Vehicle crime especially theft of motorcycles
2. ASB Nuisance In and around Bolsover including town centre, Hornscroft Park, Morrisons car parks and the disused Co-op building mainly in the evening.

Action

1. Engage with the owners/riders of vehicles. Utilise police powers and systems to identify stolen vehicles and possible offenders. Offer advice on security etc
2. Continue to engage with the youths and tackle any concerning behaviours by working with the individuals, parents/guardians and partnership agencies. Continue to work with BDC ASB officers and CAN rangers to provide regular patrols for the area of Bolsover. Engage with groups of youths to show a continued presence. Continue to work with BDC ASB Officers to discuss the potential actions to be taken in order to target this behaviour such as ABC/ CPW’s. ABC's will be issued to youths that have been repeatedly causing ASB. Warning letters have already been issued as well as youths being put onto ABCs.
