It belongs to the North East Local Policing Unit.
Eckington is a town that grew mainly as a result of the now greatly diminished mining industry, with a population in excess of 11 thousand people. The town has several active residents groups and parish council, with a range of schools from infant to a sixth form college.

Action
1. High visibility patrols and work with local pubs to prevent drug dealing/taking in the premises. Work with partner agencies to gather intel and develop and gather intelligence from the community at events such as Community Catch Up.
2. Work with Derbyshire and South Yorkshire Off Road Motorbike Team. Work with local farmers/landowners to secure the fields as well as High visibility patrols. Utilise other units within Derbyshire such as Roads Policing/Rural Crime Team.
3. High Visibility patrols in areas at key times, also linked in with Acquisitive crime team for the main areas/times. SNT to engage with community groups to provide crime prevention advice. Complete Nudge theory on roads that have previously had burglaries on, SNT will change shifts to accommodate patrols at key times. These will be reviewed in the new year as we always have an influx during in the Christmas months.
