Marine Theft – Operation Headway
Action
Working with boat owners & lake users to encourage reporting of suspicious incidents and conducting joint patrols on & around Windermere and Coniston.
Conducting Crime prevention work with boat owners & lake users.
Multi agency patrols conducted on Windermere. Joint investigations with other forces leading to the arrest of three persons. Most recently 3 more males arrested following reports of behaviour on the lake. Vehicle stop searched and outboard motors and other equipment located in the vehicle. All 3 Adult males released on Bail with conditions not to return to Cumbria whilst the investigation continues. We continue to work with our partners within Westmorland and Furness Council and the Lake District National Park to improve security, and to prevent and detect offences.
Issue
Road Safety - Speeding cars in Grange particularly Kents Bank Road
Action
To tackle this we will look to place a speed indicator device on the street to gather some data to give a better understanding of the issue. Once this data has been analysed decisions on the next steps will be taken.

Road safety - Parking Fernleigh Road, Grange over Sands
Action
Reports of inconsiderate parking with motorists obstructing the pavements and narrowing the road making it more difficult for vehicles to pass. Officers will be visiting the area and steps will be taken to deal with any vehicles found to be causing an unnecessary obstruction.
Fernleigh road can have an update of NPT officers have attended the street and conducted letter drops and visits to inform and advise residents, followed by further visits and Traffic Offence reports being issued for unnecessary obstruction.
