Current Priorities
Issue
Being a predominantly retail environment, we suffer from a high level of shop theft.
Action
We are increasing our efforts to target the most prolific offenders causing harm to area.
We are working hard with retailers to increase reporting of thefts to get a better understanding of the levels of shop thefts committed.
Issue
Homelessness continues to be a problem in Bristol and we are working in close partnership with Bristol City Council's Streetwise initiative and other agencies in order to do what we can help.
Action
We are continuing our joint approach with Bristol city council to tackle homelessness in Broadmead, with an effort to find the most vulnerable somewhere to live.
Issue
We are aware of issues regarding anti-social behaviour caused by street drinkers in Broadmead. These issues can occur throughout the day, but tend to be more prevalent in the early evenings and around the supermarket areas.
Action
We are using a ASB powers to target the most prolific offenders who cause the most issues in the area. This includes CPW/CPN (community protection warnings / Notices), Civil injunctions and CBOs (Criminal behaviour orders).
Issue
We are aware of an increase in youth based ASB around Cabot Circus & McDonalds. This includes fights, robberies, weapon incidents and general ASB. These issues mainly occur in the evening and weekends, and can increase during the school holidays.
Action
We are working hard to identify the main perpetrators and engage with them, we are then removing the individuals causing the most harm, buy using ASB powers and legislations include dispersal orders and injunctions.
To tackle these issues we have increased high visibility patrols of the areas during the times above.
