Issue
We are working closely with the ZIPP Scooter team to ensure the use of scooters is monitored.
We are working hard to engage and educate riders and where necessary issue penalty notices and riders being banned from using the scooters in the future. A reminder also that private e-scooters can be seized if used on public roads
We take all complaints and concerns seriously, any misuse that can be deemed an offence can be reported via 101 or 999 dependent on urgency. Comments and suggestions can go to [email protected].
Action
The trial in Minehead is continuing.
Recently the team in Minehead joined the Zipp team for an education event which was held on the sea front.
If you experience any issues please continue to sent comments, reports of misuse and suggestions to [email protected].
Issue
In the continuing focus on anti-social behaviour in the town we have increased patrols for the hotspot areas, where we receive new information for other areas we add or change our patrols to reflect this
To target hotspot areas we currently have dedicated teams working daily to help increase visibility and reduce the amount of problems occurring
For individuals who we establish are involved we offer words of advice, issue ASB warning letters or look at more serious consequences based on the severity of their actions
Action
We are continuing to patrol areas of Anti-Social Behaviour and will action accordingly.
If you have any concerns then please report this to 101 or 999 dependent on the emergency. You can also report online.

We have received multiple reports of speeding vehicles in the Hopcott Road / Porlock Road area of Minehead.
We are looking to set up a Community Speedwatch in the area, if you are interested in volunteering for the Speedwatch then please feel free to contact us for more information.
Action
There are continuing reports of anti- social driving and speeding within the town and surrounding areas, patrols are being carried out to tackle this behaviour.
Action has been taken recently on multiple occasions to tackle those driving in an anti-social manner whereby they were issues with section 59’s.
Issue
There are several reports regarding shop thefts at shops in Minehead.
These may continue to increase due to the current cost of living
Action
We have carried out proactive work with some shops within town to ensure that suspects have been held accountable for their actions,
Issue
Over the last month we have been receiving increased reports regarding empty and derelict properties being accessed.
These properties have ranged from sheds to houses however all have one thing in common; that they are vacant. Not in all but in some circumstances, there has been some damage done although none of the properties have had anything stolen mainly due to being empty.
The properties are being entered in ways that could cause serious harm or due to the state in which the property is in could cause injury just through being in there.
Action
The neighbourhood policing team are increasing patrols to cover properties we know have been or continue to be targeted.
We have spoken to estate agents to make them aware as well as
working with the council and local businesses to ensure properties that have been targeted are secured.
We encourage you to speak to your children regarding the risks of entering empty properties even if just for a look around. It is
trespassing and nobody but the owner or authorised persons have any right to be in there.
We would recommend if you have any empty property including sheds or outbuildings to ensure it is secured and not easily accessible and make sure to report to police via 101 or website if you find that your property has been entered without permission.
Please be vigilant and keep an eye out for people hanging around or entering places that looks unusual.
