Current Priorities

Issue

Anti-social behaviour and uninsured motor vehicles are our priority as we enter the start of the year. Uninsured vehicles pose a risk to not only other drivers but also members of the public so it is important that we get these off the road. Anti-Social Behaviour can have a significant impact on our communities and we will be utilising all our powers to ensure we tackle this head on for our communities.

Action

The beat team focus on tackling youth ASB. We continue to use are anti-social behaviour tools and powers to deal with these individuals effectively. We also work as a multi agency approach to these issues and problems by liaising with the local schools.
We are cracking down on offenders of ASB especially in our hot spot areas

Issue

Stopping and disrupting county line drug dealing/running.

Action

The neighbourhood policing team are taking proactive steps in dealing with county-line activity. NPT officers have recently been working with our intel colleagues and specialist officers from ‘operation remedy’ to tackle drug crime head on; conducting warrants, stop-searches and making arrests. We have also been conducting school visits; teaching young people to recognise the signs of grooming and modern day slavery. We work closely with third party organisations, such as ‘Hidden Voices’ to raise awareness, and work towards eliminating this behaviour in our communities. We have also been carrying out sessions on Mini police to try and help the young people in schools stay out of trouble.

Issue

The beat team are working closely with the violence reduction unit to help reduce violent crime in the local area. Multi agency work is taking place to help tackle this ongoing issue.

Action

The neighbourhood policing team work closely with our response colleagues to deal with violent crime and support victims. NPT officers have recently been conducting hi-visibility patrols to tackle knife crime, alongside conducting stop-searches and making arrests to help prevent crime. We are also working with other agencies outside the police that can try and help reduce crime in general
