Current Priorities
Issue
The Covid pandemic has seen a huge increase in bike ownership, we want to help make sure you are equipped in the best way possible to prevent and deter bike thieves by offering the free bike marking service in the coming months.
The pandemic restrictions have meant we have not been able to get out and about marking bikes as frequently as we would have liked over the last year. With restrictions easing were starting to plan ahead by scheduling in some marking events where we can also give you advice on the best way to secure your bike.
If you would like to attend one of these events we have the following dates scheduled in:
- Tuesday 27th July - Coniston Green - 12 - 2pm
- Wednesday 4th August - Uphill Boat Yard - 10 - 2pm
- Monday 16th August - Coniston Green - 12 - 2pm
You can always contact us via our beat page if you are unable to make these events and would like to arrange another suitable time for us to visit you and mark your bike.
Action
The Weston Uphill Policing team continue to offer bike marking for people who need it. We believe it is a great opportunity as it deters thieves from stealing your bike and helps the police identify owners of bikes after we find them.
Keep an eye on our social media for our next event or ask one of our local PCSO’s in person when they’re on patrol.
Issue
Our team has received reports of anti-social behaviour and drug taking in Jubilee Park over the last few weeks, our team are increasing their patrols of the area and developing our intelligence around the issues.
Thank you for working with your local police in tackling community issues.
Issue
Parking issues continue to be an ongoing problem in the Uphill area. This is not only caused by excessive traffic during school times, there are also rising tensions between neighbours over restricted parking on residential streets.
We encourage you to report parking related issues to North Somerset Council Civil Enforcement Team or the Police. We will assess each report in isolation and deal with the matter accordingly. We urge you not to take matters into your own hands. Report what you have seen as soon as you are able, preferably when it is taking place.
You can report a parking issue to the Police on 101, 999 in an emergency, or via our website in the report an incident section.
or by contacting North Somerset Council Civil Enforcement Team https://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/my-services/parking-travel-roads/parking-access/civil-parking-enforcement
Or telephone - 01934 888 888
We will continue to patrol the areas of concern.
